Make education more widely available
Hairdressers against aids
NEWS
BackCelebrities make a commitment alongside "Hairdressers against AIDS" program.
During the World Hairdressing and Beauty exhibition that took place from 6 to 8 November 2010, the Professional Products Division, UNESCO and the L’Oréal Foundation presented the new features of "Hairdressers against AIDS" to a gathering of journalists and professionals. A programme that is more topical than ever, if we look at the figures: "In 2010, over 33 million people live with HIV throughout the world: 60% of them don't know it, and 2 million die from it each year," says Nicolas Hiéronimus, World General Manager of the L'Oreal Professional Products Division. Hence the need to talk about it! And hairdressers, who often act as confidants to their clients, can play very important preventive role all over the world. This is why the programme, present in 30 countries, has created a whole new campaign entitled "Use your voice, use your Power, for a Beautiful world without Aids". A message with impact accompanied by four new training films designed for its awareness-raising programme for hairdressers, and fund-raising initiatives like a calendar with committed celebrities photographed by star hairdresser John Nollet. This calendar will be sold to raise money for an education programme developed in partnership with UNESCO.Photo Credit : Jacqueline Roche
