Propose a project
Applications must fall within one of the areas covered by the L’Oréal Foundation:
- Science: promoting scientific research, the basic sciences and human sciences, increasing the role of women in science, fostering the recognition of excellence, encouraging young people to become scientists, and investing in new areas of research.
- Education: educating people and raising their awareness of this century’s great causes, such as the fight against AIDS, and facilitating disadvantaged people’s access to knowledge.
- Solidarity: help people made to feel vulnerable by the alteration of their appearance to feel self-confident again and reintegrate into society.
Projects may involve a specific action or a long-term campaign but must clearly show the target population and region.
Selection criteria
Project sponsors may include French foundations, associations, non-governmental organizations and any other non-profit organizations.
The following will be taken into account:
- Soundness of the organization submitting the project
- Project feasibility
- Potential impact
- Possible involvement of L’Oréal employees
- Means of measuring success
- International coverage and scope of organization submitting the project
The L’Oréal Foundation gives priority to projects involving Group employees in addition to financial support, and in particular those close to Group sites and business activities. Selected projects must reflect an original approach while upholding the values of the Group and the Foundation. The Foundation will ensure that project sponsors provide details of exactly how any requested assistance will be used, along with stated goals and indicators showing the impact of its support.
The Foundation will pay special attention to the feasibility of each project, as well as the experience of the project sponsor and the quality of its partners.
The L’Oréal Foundation does not support projects outside the three areas outlined above such as:
- humanitarian trips,
- personal projects,
- galas, school fairs,
- sports,
- cultural events…
